Some of the BRCA 1 and 2 mutations come with a very high risk of ovarian cancer (35% to 50% lifetime risk) and additionally, significant risk of breast cancer. There are things that can be done to reduce both of those risks, for example enhanced screening. Insurance will pay for the testing.I knew a woman who swam ever day for half an hour to an hour, (she had metastisized breast cancer).
